Any move to put in place tough regulation on artificial intelligence will impede innovations and throttle investments in India, a senior official at Meta said on Wednesday. While speaking at the Global Technology Summit, Meta Vice President - Privacy Policy, Evelyn Miller said the European Union regulations have hit a stumbling block because the industry was not aware of the liability it will put on them and therefore, stalled innovation for the region. "I think you have to be very careful when it comes to regulation, and the reason for that is we are not sure about what we are regulating. We don't know exactly what the potential of AI is right now. "To create hard regulation today would impede all levels of innovation. Not only because there are so many different ways that you can innovate here on technologies that we are producing in different parts of the world but also because it doesn't allow for investments," Miller said. She was responding to a question on the way regulation

"As many as 24 seats have been kept for PoK because the region is our own," he said. Shah also said that Kashmir had to suffer due to two major "Nehruvian blunders" -- declaring a ceasefire without winning the entire Kashmir and taking the issue to the United Nations. When India's Army was winning and as soon as Punjab area was reached, the ceasefire was declared and Pakistan-occupied Kashm

Observing that several northeastern states are affected by insurgency and violence, the Supreme Court Wednesday said the government must be given "latitude and leeway" to make adjustments necessary to save the nation. Referring to section 6A of the Citizenship Act applicable exclusively to Assam, a five-judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said governments have to make compromises for the overall well-being of the nation. "We must also give the government that latitude. Even today there are parts of North East, we may not name them, but there are states affected by insurgency, affected by violence. We have to give the government that leeway to make adjustments necessary to save the nation," Chandrachud said. He made the observation after senior advocate Shyam Divan, appearing for the petitioners, submitted that section 6A operates in a "blanket manner" and rewards illegal immigrants who continue to stay in Assam in violation of the citizenship law. "Assam
